Tasked with developing MRKT, a 600-square-foot market area within Nashville's Kenect apartment building, MZA produced a welcoming and accessible space with a focus on local personality. Thoughtfully detailed, the cozy but lively storefront boasts a tidy coffee bar with an alley-facing view along busy 19th Avenue, cushy seating, and ample display space for locally made snacks and sundries. MZA's design team carefully selected furnishings and finishes, collaborating with Nashville artist Joe Geis on a bright mural that mirrors that same personality on MRKT’s exterior. In just a few short months since its summer 2024 opening, MRKT has become a convenient, walkable neighborhood spot, and a favorite among Kenect residents and visitors.
