Description
In collaboration with EOA Architects and Hawkins Partners, MZA envisioned Queens to bring new energy and new neighbors to Wedgewood-Houston. Just a stone's throw from MZA's own office, the mixed-use project consists of 220 apartments, eleven live/workspaces, and a community restaurant with rooftop bar at Hagan and Hamilton. MZA collaborated with the SNAP neighborhood association and Councilmember Colby Sledge to make sure the project fits in the creative, residential DNA of the block. The design also transforms a dead-end section of Moore Avenue into a public green, where long-time residents and newcomers can greet one another. Queens intertwines housing, local commerce, and outdoor space in a way that unifies the neighborhood and respects its heritage.
