Description

When Nashville's iconic West End Synagogue, originally designed by mid-century architect Percival Goodman, required renovations and additions, MZA embraced the challenge of sensitively modernizing the landmark structure. Prominently located on West End Avenue, the large project includes a restored sanctuary, renovated chapel interiors, updated kosher kitchens, and a new preschool. Indulging Goodman's modernist dream, MZA added refined, contemporary touches such as stone cladding, refined wood accents, and thoughtful glass artwork, while preserving the building's architectural integrity., the project gives the synagogue a new lease on life, offering its congregants renewed space to gather, worship, and observe tradition in a modernized, inclusive environment.
